Submission Guidelines
Interested in submitting work to Sixpence Society Literary Journal? Make sure you read this guide before you do! (Submissions are currently CLOSED).
We accept submissions of all types of fiction writing, from traditional forms of poetry and prose to any experimental form you enjoy. We also encourage submissions of artwork and photography. If there is something you are unsure about please do not hesitate to get in touch and ask! Submissions of prose should be no longer than 800 words, and poetry no longer than a side of A4 when formatted. The only rule is that you follow the theme for the issue, which will be shared on our social media accounts. For Issue Two, this theme is ‘Reflect’.
Please submit your work as a word document to sixpencesociety@gmail.com and include within the subject of your email the name you wish to have your work accredited to, and the title of the work(s). Alternatively, make it clear if you wish to remain anonymous. Also include social media handles if you wish for these to be included alongside your work and for you to be tagged on social media upon publication. A cover letter containing a brief author’s bio and an explanation of how your work fits the theme is beneficial.
All work must be your own and you must either include relevant content warnings or allow us to add them. We will not publish work which causes offence or hate. Previously published work will be considered as long as this is in line with the guidelines of the other publication(s).
Thank you for reading the guidelines; good luck with your submissions!
